Institutional commitment to training is essential. The APBTN recognizes the need for quality biosafety instruction. The APBTN encourages trainers to make known of upcoming events that they will be teaching laboratory biosafety principles and practices. The events feature an instructor that has successfully completed the Instructor’s Guide for Biosafety Training Train-the-Trainer Programmes established by the WHO Collaborating Centre for Applied Biosafety Programmes and Research at the Division of Occupational Health and Safety, National Institutes of Health. At these events, the information is bestowed through lectures, visual presentations, and interactive activities such as case studies and laboratory exercises.
